In some very sad news, inker Norman Lee has gone missing while snorkeling in the Cayman Islands.
Lee disappeared off the coast of Grand Cayman while snorkeling with his wife, Jan Lee, last Thursday morning. His wife reported him missing after they became separated 250 yards from the shore.
A rescue operation began Friday but ended at 6:oo pm the same day. In a statement police said “The currents in that area are strong and it is unlikely that we will make any recovery at this stage,”, however they are encouraging people in the area to report any sightings of interest.
Lee has been working in the industry since the late 1990s after he graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. His work has included DC’s Supergirl and Starman, as well as Marvel’s Avengers and X-Men.
Fans have been sending prayers and messages of support over Facebook and Twitter.
