Summary
Wonder Woman tries to stop Veronica from using Cheetah to opening a potential gate to Themyscira.
Positives
The cover by Liam Sharp and Laura Martin is amazing. It’s just Diana in a cool pose but it works so well. The light behind her gives the cover an epic feel. And Diana looks fantastic; it’s just a great image of Wonder Woman.
The interior art is by Sharp with colors by Martin and Hi-Fi. The book looks amazing. The faces are distinct and expressive. I love the way this team draws Diana.
Wonder Woman is a bad ass in this. I love how Colonel Maru shooting Diana is more of a nuisance than anything. Diana takes care of business with Maru and it’s amazing. Wonder Woman is the epitome of cool in that scene.
I love how hard Diana tries to reach Barbara Ann. She’s trying to help her friend find peace again and it’s quite sad when Cheetah refuses to listen. I also like that Diana can help and be kind to Veronica. She’s a forgiving person that believes in opportunities for change.
The ending is really interesting. I’m curious to see where this goes.
Verdict
This is a great issue. Wonder Woman gets to be both bad ass and compassionate which is very important for the character. The art is great and there are some really interesting things happening in the story.
