Summary
Simon and Jess get some much needed down time on Earth.
Positives
This was probably one of the most enjoyable books to read thus far in this series. After what felt like an eternity, Simon and Jess are finally back on Earth. And if that wasn’t enough for a celebration, they actually got to just be human for a day. I can’t remember the last time they simply wore their regular clothes and just hung out, but that’s pretty much what you’ll get in this issue. There are a few pages of a battle that go on, but ultimately, it was just Simon and Jess being Simon and Jess.
Humphries’ writing in this issue was great. There were a few panels which I had a hard time following his train of thought, but the message and dialogue were still perfect. Even though this was a more personal issue for our Lanterns, the chemistry between them and writing for each character was true to form. Nothing seemed forced or complicated.
I actually found myself laughing at parts in this issue more then any other in this series. It was just a really fun issue to read and have fun with. No “diabolic villains” or “end of the world scenarios”, which was so refreshing for a change.
I’m really hoping that after this issue the animosity between Simon and Nazir is over. After reading and hearing about it from Simon for so long, it’d be nice not to hear his constant bickering about it anymore.
The art in this issue was decent. No page really stood out or was exceptional, but it was consistent, which is the best you can hope for in a comic book.

No real negatives to mention.
Verdict
This was a great issue to read for anyone interested in superheroes. No capes or rings, only the people behind them. It was a great character building issue, and a ton of fun to read.
