There is some good news and some bad news about the ongoing Flash comic book for you today. Lets get the bad news out of the way, the bad news is unsurprisingly a departure by a long time writer and a long time artist for the book. More specifically, Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato announced their departure from the book with their last issues being issue #25.
Buccellato explains his point of view on the departure and what it means:
If you’ve seen the solicits for FLASH #26, you may notice that @FrancisManapul and I are not listed as the creators…
We’ve reached the end of our Flash run. #25 is the final chapter in what’s been an incredible journey with the fastest man alive. Fun times!
And now the good news, both Manapul and Buccellato ain’t going anywhere from DC anytime soon or in other words, it ain’t the last time you see either of them in the new 52.
@FrancisManapul and I will be moving on to a NEW regular DC series that will hit stores in MARCH 2014.
We can’t tell you what the series is (yet), but we are super excited about this new sandbox we get to play in!
On behalf of DC Comics News, we would like to wish Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato the best in their future endeavors at DC and beyond.
