Stephen Amell took to Facebook to air his thoughts on the Emmy Awards 2013, particularly its “Stunt Coordination” category. The ‘Oliver Queen’ actor on The CW’s “Arrow” says he finds himself unable to take the Emmys seriously after it snubbed his show’s stunts.
James Bamford, the fight coordinator working on “Arrow” has delivered some impressive action-packed scenes in the superhero series. Stephen Amell leads the show’s cast as “The Hood” aka Green Arrow in the DC Comics universe. (See some of Arrow’s fandom postings on Tumblr in the slideshow.)
These shows are nominated for the Emmy Awards 2013 – Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Miniseries or Movie: Blue Bloods (CBS, Secrets & Lies); NCIS (CBS, Revenge); Revolution (NBC, Nobody’s Fault But Mine); and Southland (TNT, Bleed Out).
“Been meaning to mention this for awhile… Arrow not being nominated for an Emmy in Stunt Coordination makes it difficult for me to take that awards ceremony seriously on any level whatsoever.“
The actor adds he’s glad to have taken the sentiment off his chest, thanks to Facebook.
Stephen Amell has always been outspoken on Facebook. He is believed to have been offered the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey. However, Amell hinted he was not interested in the role. His previous Facebook posts indicated these developments.
“We have 20 sequences that are better than anything that is nominated. We actually created a list of said 20 sequences,“
Amell said further on Facebook. He listed a number of YouTube links to make a point. (Scroll down to watch Part 1 of Top 20 Arrow Season 1 Best Stunts videos.)
Arrow Season 2 premieres on Oct. 9 on The CW. Stephen Amell returns as Oliver Queen. Summer Glau joins the cast in a recurring capacity as Isabel Rochev. New Zealand actor Manu Bennett has been promoted to series regular.
