According to the Detriot Free Press, preproduction for the “Man of Steel” sequel has started in the metropolitan Detroit area, with Michigan Motion Picture Studios playing a key role in regards to the set and locations.
The studio will serve as a home base for DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. as they start filming next year. When filming begins all seven of its sound stages will be in use and records plan on being broken.
Michigan Motion Picture Studios COO Anthony Wenson said the following ““This project will employ more Michigan residents than any other film project has ever employed in the state of Michigan.”
The movie shoot is predicted to be the largest ever to shoot in the state.
This marks as the first official confirmation we’ve had of Michigan readying itself to portray the iconic cities of Metropolis/Gotham. The movie plans on occupying the Michigan Studio complex until August.
