The production of CW’s The Flash is on fire as they cast  one of Prison Break’s stars: Dominic Purcell.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dominic Purcell, best known for his role in the critically acclaimed tv series Prison Break, will be portraying one of the villains we love to hate: Heatwave. In comic book form, Heatwave is a member of The Rogues, a group of villains set out to destroy The Flash, which is really not what they are known for. Instead this characters are fan-favorite because they may be villains to the eyes of the every-day man, but is when they team-up against real evil that one is able to see what they are  really made of. Sometimes even teaming up with The Flash, they prove to be a group of interesting characters. That said, Dominic is not the only Prison Break alumni set to star on The Flash.

Heatwave as he appears in comics currently

While Dominic will bring the certainly needed gravitas for such a character like Heatwave, he will not be alone. His Prison Break co-star Wenworth Miller will be joining him as Captain Cold, and Robert Knepper (who portrayed T-Bag) will reprise his role as the Clock King from Arrow, while Peter Stormare will play Count Vertigo.

“We’ll be seeing his origin and the origin of the Rogues” said executive producer Greg Berlanti at the Television Critics Association

Dominic Purcell will hit the screen as Heatwave on the tenth episode and possible mid-season premiere of the Flash.

The Flash premieres this October 7th.
