This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for folks. The final showdown on Cadmus Island finally makes it’s way into the pages of Futures End. Needless to say, this issue is jammed from cover to cover with tons of action and plenty of surprises. With such an abundance of  death and destruction, this is definitely an issue you wont want to miss.

PositivesThe New 52 - Futures End 030-002

As I said before this issue is full of action. Readers will be sitting on the edge of their seats for likely the entire issue, which is always a rewarding feeling. The action sequences especially are cinematic in their execution and fueled by emotion. The character exude a series of emotions during battle, similar to the way a World War II movie would feel.

You could tell that the writers of the series were especially eager to right this issue. Twists and turns happen throughout the issue, which give the issue a rejuvenated sense of significance. While I’m often hard on the series for lacking significance, its only because I am so enamored with the thought of issues like these. Without spoiling too much, there are a couple of deaths in this issue and many of them are quite unexpected. Before reading this issue readers should definitely be prepared to be surprised.

NegativesThe New 52 - Futures End 030-006

Honestly there wasn’t much wrong with this issue. It was engaging and entertaining, while also moving the the plot forward a significant amount. What more could one possible want from a comic?

Verdict

Futures End has had its ups and downs throughout its run, but this issue is definitely a highlight. There are some major revelations that will surely shape the path this book takes moving forward. This action packed issue is an exhilarating ride that will definitely leave you wanting more. I personally hope that more issues contain this amount of energy as the series begins its march towards its inevitable end.
