Summary

When a massive blizzard hits Gotham City without warning, Batgirl must brave the bitter cold to discover the truth behind the storm. Is it an act of nature? Or is the Penguin up to no good? Find out in what promises to be a chilling metropolitan mystery for the ages!

Positives

I love the cover by Dan Mora. The winter colors are gorgeous and the two characters look great. And an army of evil penguins is always hilariously awesome. They just need missiles on their backs.

The interior art features pencils by Chris Wildgoose, inks by Jose Marzan Jr and colors by Mat Lopes. As always, the team delivers a great looking book. It has an energetic style that gives the book a lot of personality. The characters are expressive. And the winter colors are very pretty. I also love that Batgirl has a winter version of her costume and a Snow-Batmobile. Those are nice touches.

This is a decent start to a mystery. I’m not completely invested yet, but it’s potentially interesting. I like that whatever is going on involves technology and hacking; it’s always fun to see Babs use those skills.

Negatives

There are no negatives worth mentioning in this issue other than what I’ve already stated.

Verdict

This is a solid issue. The art is great and a lot of fun to look at. The issue is well written as usual with fun dialogue and a decent mystery. I’m not super into the story yet but it just started and I’m curious to see where it goes.
