Summary
“BATMEN ETERNAL” part one! With his team completely shattered, Batman must confront Red Robin about the future of their partnership…if there even is one!
Positives
We get a flashback where readers get to see Clayface once again, reminding fans of the tragedy that has befallen the Bat Family, and how the pain has affected its members, including Cassandra. We also get to see Batwoman and her new team, which includes Batwing and Azrael, battle Talons from the Court of Owls, which is always an interesting foe, especially when the team is so fractured.
Tim Drake’s Robin gets into a war of words with Batman over the direction of the team and whether the Knights protocol actually works. This is a nice behind the scenes look which you could’ve only imagined, but to see it play out is what makes Tynion’s writing shine.
The last few panels reveal who our main villain is, Ulysses Armstrong, and it looks as if tearing apart the Family is only the beginning, making him one of the more insidious foes they have ever faced
Negatives
There are no negatives worth mentioning in this issue.
Verdict
This storyline takes a look at how each Bat Family member can function without each other, and is definitely worth the read!
