Summary

Elatha may have been the most recent king of Tir Na Nóg to die, but death is never far from the throne. Batman and Wonder Woman learn about the realm’s first king, his mysterious silver arm and what bearing it may have on the problems of the present, as the Fomorians grow increasingly weary of these strangers and their questions. The duo’s investigation was supposed to bring answers and keep the peace, but it might burn into the spark that ignites the first shots of war!

Positives

This issue opens with Diana and Bruce being questioned about their motives, which feels like role reversal for these mainstays, as this is not their domain, something both characters and readers must get used to. We are also introduced to Ethne, the Queen of Tir Na Nog, a rather mysterious figure which, in the way Sharp writes, makes you suspect her involvement in her husband’s death.

Ethne also gives our heroes a history lesson of this world, giving readers clues to where the feud still lies and who could be the interested parties in seeing a world so disillusioned. Lastly, someone has entered the ancient tomb, and just like Batman always does, he finds a clue that no one else could find, giving his fans exactly what they expect from the Dark Knight.
