Summary

Raven and her mother, Arella, have been captured…and now they are being used to open a portal to bring Trigon to Earth, with the intention of spawning an army of perfect warriors!

Positives

We are introduced to the Shadow Riders, who are pretty much like grim reapers on horses, similar to the Nazgul in Lord Of The Rings, but a bit more creepy, as this addition only punches up the horror element to the story. Raven and Arella find out what has been going on at 2MorrowTek, as they have been experimenting on many of Trigon’s offspring, proving that this corporation is the true evil as they also experimented with various women looking for the one true bride, who eventually becomes Arella.

In this issue, Baron Winters and Merlin serve as the reader’s eyes into the story, as he comically narrates what is happening. Lastly, we get a fight between Trigon, Raven and the progeny of 2MorrowTek, leaving a nice cliffhanger for fans.

Negatives

There are no negatives worth mentioning in this issue.

Verdict

This issue unravels like a twisted 70s Italian horror movie with modern day sensibilities.  It’s a great read, and I highly recommend picking it up right away!
