Cree Superhero “Equinox” to Make DC Comics Debut in April

The original character writer Jeff Lemire said he was creating for Justice League United has been named as Equinox and she will debut with the JLU in April.

Lemire said he based the character off the late Native American activist Shannen Koostachin, who advocated for improved education for Aboriginal youth. Equinox is a 16 year old girl and Lemire said he wanted to make a character that honored Native Americans, not the preconceived notions other people may think of them.

It is still unclear what will happen to Equinox after her stint with the JLU is over, but if people are excited enough about her you gotta think that her own series may be on the horizon.
