You heard it here! According to mlive.com, Gal Gadot, whom is portraying Wonder Woman in the ‘Man of Steel’ sequel, is in Detroit. The news comes from Gadot herself, as she posted, “I can smell the weekend coming. Any plans?” The message was “posted near Rochester, Michigan, a Detroit Suburb”, on her Facebook page.
Rumor has it that Wonder Woman’s role in the film will be small, but, nonetheless, important and a set up for a future ‘Justice League’ film. Her costume, like those of her fellow Justice League members: Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck), has not been released to the public as yet. Designed by Michael Wilkinson (‘300’ ‘Man of Steel’), he comments that the costume is a “thrilling and slightly scary prospect”. And that when it comes to the character’s silver screen debut “It’s so important to get her right.” and to “create a Wonder Woman that’s relevant for today’s audiences“
Gadot will joined by Ben Affleck, as he and his family stay in the city for the “entire summer” so that he can begin filming. This news comes from Jennifer Garner whom recently told Detroit Sport 105.1 “I don’t know what it’s called. Superman with Batman … whatever it is. But (Affleck) is shooting this summer, so we’ll be there.” Henry Cavill was also spotted in Detroit at Imperial, a bar.
Just recently, Ray Fisher was announced as Snyder’s pick for Victor Stone a.k.a. Cyborg, the footballer whom is horribly injured in an accident that forces his father to enhance him with cybernetics. An earlier batch of casting included Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Holly Hunter whose character is unknown at the moment, and several others.
There’s no word yet on when filming will actually begin, but given that filming will take place in Detroit, it can start as early as this summer.
The sequel to 2013’s ‘Man of Steel’ will premiere on May 6, 2016.
