After months of speculations and rumors floating around, Conan the Barbarian aka Jason Momoa has been cast as Aquaman to appear in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as the future Justice League movie.
Momoa himself has tried to deflect the attention multiple times in the past when asked if he was up any role in a DC movie. He appeared at Bucharest Comic Con last month and said the following:
“I know, Aquaman! I couldn’t even be more random for Aquaman, you know, with the blonde hair… I don’t even know where that comes from – it’s like me being… uh… Robin or something. Who pulls that out? I see that on the internet and I’m like, Aquaman? A guy like… Lobo I could see.“
Well it’s nice to see he’s changed his tune in regards to playing the notoriously blonde King of the Seas. Director Zack Snyder must be finishing up some great designs for AquaMomoa as that’s surely what swayed the Game of Thrones actor into accepting the role.
The idea of the role Aquaman will play in BvS is that after the events that took place in Man of Steel, Aquaman is none to pleased with what happened to the Indian Ocean. General Zod’s world engine probably messed up some of Aquaman’s aquatic buddies so he might be out for revenge. This obviously will set him up for a bigger role in the Justice League movie but for now we can sit back and realize that Aquaman has now become the biggest badass in the DC Movie Universe. Seriously though, is there anyone else more badass than Jason Momoa?
