Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has further teased a role for a superhero movie, rumours have circulated about him playing Green Lantern Jon Stewart, in an interview with TotalFilm for his latest film ‘Hercules’, when asked out of Lobo or Black Adam, what would be most exciting to play. Dwayne Johnson confirmed he has spoken with DC about particular roles, he explained –
“There’s a character out there that we’re going to announce soon, He has the power of Superman. And it’s not the Green Lantern by the way. Believe me – Jon Stewart – he is a character who I wanted to play, but there was already a version of Green Lantern, and so now we’ve gone in a slightly different direction. But this character has the power of Superman. He can throw down.”
Wait for it, with a smile he said “Just say the word. That’s all I’m going to say.”
The good news is that he seems particularly keen, and a DC fan himself to be involved with the cinematic universe. Being slightly coy in the interview, saying ‘Just say the word’, the list of heroes or villains in the DCU are pretty slim that can ‘throw down’ with Superman, I believe it is a safe assumption he will play Shazam!
