Barry is amused as how much Captain Boomerang is being featured

An all-new not so coincidental DLC for Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham brings the members of the Suicide Squad into the already massive character roster of the video game.

Batman is not the only one in the spotlight these days, Suicide Squad is also under heavy promotion. The ‘Batman Assault on Arkham’ animated film might as well be called ‘Suicide Squad and friends’, as the film centered on the early incarnation of the squad which was referred to as Task Force X.

Now the squad is being featured again and this time DC Entertainment unleashes the ragtag team of psychopaths into one of the most successful games this last few years: Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Sure one could argue the formula behind the Lego games is getting old…but who cares? Who does not want to play as their favorite hero or villain, right? The player can even choose to play as the Batman from ’66, Kevin Smith and Geoff Johns.

The Suicide Squad has recently also been featured in the live action series ‘Arrow’, with Amanda Waller, Deadshot and Captain Boomerang appearing in multiple episodes, and also teasing the return of Deathstroke to Season 3 of the show. Even Task Force X is mentioned by Boomerang at some point.

The DLC includes Suicide Squad members Deadshot, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, El Diablo, Amanda Waller among others.  The downloadable content is available as part of the “LEGO Batman 3” season pass for $14.99. The season pass is set to include characters and content from the hit tv-show ‘Arrow’ and from the most recent DC Comics cinematic event: ‘Man of Steel’. Interesting side note: All the members of the Squad are sporting their New 52 looks…..alternate suits in-game could be a good thing at this time. I referred to the DLC choice as not coincidental because a Suicide Squad film is coming to the Big-Screen, so promoting it by including its characters in a hit-videogame like Lego Batman 3 is a no-brainer.

What do you think about the members of the squad in this DLC? Who else should be here? Which DLC should be released next?
