Suicide Squad isn’t scheduled to make its live action debut until Aug. 5, 2016, but director David Ayer delivered a cryptic message to DC Comics fans about the proposed plot for the film via Twitter.
On Thursday, Ayer posted a photo titled “Paperwork” that featured a Bravo 14 (suspected working title for the movie) Prep Schedule, under an inter-office memo from Warner Bros. (parent company of DC Comics and studio making the film), and a copy of Suicide Squad Vol. 1: Kicked in the Teeth graphic novel strategically placed over the memo.
The graphic novel could be a clue as to the plot of the actual movie. The book has Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Shark and other Squad members incarcerated and being interrogated about their latest mission. It hasn’t been confirmed that this is the direction of the scheduled film, as there have been several different versions of Task Force X since it was created in 1959.
The cast for the film includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto, scheduled to play iconic DC Comics characters Deadshot, Harley Quinn and the Joker respectively. Actor Tom Hardy was scheduled to play Rick Flagg in the movie, but later backed out. Jake Gyllenhaal was in talks to replace him, but he also declined.
