Over the course of Arrow we have watched Ollie suffer quite a bit, and he was certainly not the only one. Many of the core characters have faced heartache over losing family and close friends. The deaths of Tommy Merlyn, Shado, Sara Lance, Robert Queen and even Yao Fei came quick and left fans stunned for a brief stint. No death came as more of a surprise then the murder of Moira Queen. When Slade’s blade passed through Moira I felt my chest cave in. It was a very close second to seeing Jonathan Kent pass on CW’s Smallville. So when Colton Haynes and Stephen Amell tweeted something a little ominous, I started to sweat.
On March 2nd Stephen Amell tweeted, “Sometimes real feelings creep into a scene. Goodbyes are tough. Even when they’re scripted.”
Not too much later I saw a tweet that Colton Haynes left on his Twitter page.
“What a rough night. Probably the most difficult day I’ve had at work in my life. So many emotions all around that couldn’t be controlled.”
What could this mean? Is someone soon going to die? Can Team Arrow really suffer another loss? In all actuality I don’t think any core members of the show can die. So Ollie, Laurel, Felicity, Digg, Ray, and Thea would be the only one’s safe in my mind. In my opinion the heads on the chopping block are Roy, Quentin Lance, and maybe Nyssa. Now if I’m wrong and Digg dies, I will be extremely upset. I really also just threw Nyssa in there because it’s the league right? Anything could happen.
As far as Roy and Quentin go I do think those are the main two. With Roy it wouldn’t have to be a death. It might be time for Roy Harper to get addicted to heroin and have Ollie push him away. This could make sense because with Roy gone, Thea could take the place as the Arrow’s new sidekick. He has already called her Speedy on more than one occasion.
With Quentin, he already has heart problems and is now having to deal with the knowledge of Sara’s death and Laurel’s late night commitment. If you look back at the show there is a common trend among the death of friends and family. When Tommy decided to reconcile with Ollie after everything he was soon dead. When Moira reconciled with Oliver soon after Slade killed her. Now what is going to happen when Quentin reconciles with Laurel and they get their relationship back on track. Quentin Lance will, probably, soon be dead.
Now I hope that all this is just wrong. There is one thing that is for sure. With Stephen Amell actually using the words “Goodbyes are tough,” that confirms that a member of the cast will be leaving the show. As for the how, that is still all up in the air.
