Have you ever wanted to own your own Batmobile? If so, now your dream could become a reality if you live Maryland. Maryland Live casino is giving away of replica of the 1966 Batmobile from the Adam West TV show as a grand prize in a contest for those in the casino rewards card program.
The Batman promotion is geared towards middle-aged people, more specifically people who grew up watching the show. The replica on display at Maryland Live comes complete with all the original gadgets including the portable Bat-phone, batcomputer, lasers, a parachute, and rear flame exhaust. While the original car was a Lincoln Futura customized by George Barris, this replica was custom-made by Fiberglass Freaks of Indiana, which obtained a license from DC Comics to build the replicas.
In order to be entered for the possibility of winning, rewards card members must play at the casino until April 26th. On April 24th, prize drawings will be held, and the Batmobile will be given out at the end of the contest on April 26th. The car is currently on display at the casino, and is only being rolled out for news media visits. When not on display, the Batmobile is being kept under wraps in valet parking.
One might ask if this famous TV vehicle is street legal. Mario Maesano, senior vice president of marketing for the casino says yes, but, “you’ve got to get tags and stuff.”
