UPDATE: Rocksteady Studios released this announcement on their forums late last night.

Dear Batman: Arkham Fans,

We regret to inform you that we are not able to release the Batmobile Collector’s Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight due to unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of this extremely limited run of product.

We are deeply apologetic for this unfortunate outcome. If you did pre-order the Batmobile Collector’s Edition, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the product and you will receive a full refund of your deposit or it can be rolled over to another Batman: Arkham Knight edition or another product of your choice.

We will be providing everyone who purchases Batman: Arkham Knight with the New 52 skin pack, including Batman, Robin and Nightwing, free of charge.

Is this a solid resolution? Does your satisfaction for the substitute outweigh your disappointment at not getting the Batmobile? Let us know!

ORIGINAL POST: That’s right, fellow Batfreaks. It appears that anyone who preordered themselves a copy of Batman: Arkham Knight (Batmobile Edition) won’t be getting what they paid for. Apparently, due to some “unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of the Batmobile included,” WB Games has decided to cancel the sales and distribution of this long-awaited and sought-after collector’s edition.

“Greatly compromised the quality,” huh? What, did they fall in a vat of acid? Did you burn half of the armor off, WB? Did you pump them full of Venom and now they’re rampaging out of control?

Whatever the case, it looks like Batfans will be severely disappointed. I am sure, however, that a reason shall be revealed soon, though I can’t say that it will be sufficient reason enough to satiate those angry gamers. Some retailers, like GAME in the UK, have sent their customers who preordered the Batmobile Edition an email. You can see the screenshot below.

Have you preordered the Batmobile Edition and received an email like this? Send us a screenshot of your email to [email protected] and we’ll publish it here on this article!
