Arrow fans will remember the Doctor Light character being mentioned in the season 2 episode titled “The Man Under The Hood.”Although he didn’t make an appearance, the Arthur Light incarnation of the character was said to be an ex-S.T.A.R Labs employee. It has now been confirmed that Doctor Light will be appearing in season 2 of The Flash, but it will NOT be Arthur Light.
Although Arthur Light is the most recognized version of the character, a metahuman, female Doctor Light by the name of Kimiyo Hoshi was introduced in 1985’s Crisis On Infinite Earths storyline Showrunner Gabriel Stanton tells TV Line that “the female version” of Doctor Light will appear as a metahuman on season two of The Flash.
Though the original version of Doctor Light was a villain, Kimiyo was an astronomer that was introduced as a hero in Crisis On Infinite Earths, having gained her superpowers from the Anti-Monitor. It is currently unknown how she will be adapted for the television show.
So far, no actress has been named for the role, but it will almost definitely be the Kimiyo Hoshi version of the character that she will be playing.
Season 2 of The Flash will begin running (get it?) on Oct. 6 on The CW.
