The Greatest Comic Con On The East Coast!

Saturday (Day 2) is usually the busiest day of the con, this year proved to be no different than previous years. I knew this was going to be a long day as this would be the first year I would attend The Harvey Award dinner which follows immediately after the show. I packed a few protein bars and a bottled water so I could eat on the go!

Saturday the Baltimore Comic Con celebrated National “Batman Day” and Gotham City was well represented with Scott Snyder (Batman), James Tynion IV (Batman Eternal), Greg Pak (Batman/Superman), Tom King (Grayson), Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Connor (Harley Quinn, Harley’s Little Black Book) and legendary artist Neal Adams who helped modernize Batman and bring back the characters darker nature!

Armed with a list of artists, vendors and panels I wanted to see I hit the con floor! While wandering through I came across a new addiction….minifigs! Throughout the course of the day I bought 3 dozen of these little guys. I then decided to take a break from spending and get some coffee before catching the panel “Superheroes Under The Microscope”. A fun panel hosted by science consultant Christopher Preece with creators Mark Waid and Ramona Fradon, they discussed science in comics such as, how does Aquaman swim so fast and what is Metamorpho made of? You can enjoy this panel in its entirety below!

After the panel I headed back to the con floor to get cosplay pics and check out some more vendors. During this visit to the floor I picked up Heroic Tales vol 2 (Bill Everett), Captain Britain collected editions vol 1 and 2 and the Manhunter Special Edition which collects the Detective Comics (#437-443) back up stories by Archie Goodwin and Walter Simonson plus a new story.

Manhunter Special Edition

The costume contest was split this year, adults were on Saturday with the children’s contest being held on Sunday. I captured some great cosplay pics, some of which are below!
