DC Comics has a new Icons Action Figure line that is inspired by specific eras of DC Comics history. Comic book fans will be able to collect their favorite characters from their favorite era.
DC Comics have widely known comic book covers and has decided to put a spin on their action figures/statues and comic books. They have recreated some of their iconic comic book covers with their Icons Action Figure line.
Our DC Comics Icons: Green Arrow Action Figure is based on the Green Arrow of the late 1980s, and arguably no comic better defined this take on the Emerald Archer than Mike Grell’s 1987 miniseries, GREEN ARROW: THE LONGBOW HUNTERS. This classic storyline, which alongside comics like THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS and BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKEbrought a deeper level of sophistication and maturity to comic books, found Oliver Queen taking a more stripped down and realistic approach to vigilantism, abandoning his trick arrows as he tracks down a serial killer who’s been killing prostitutes in the area. The book is a classic for a good reason, and boasts one of the most well know Green Arrow covers ever composed, which you can see recreated below using our action figure.
The design of this Green Arrow was popular in the 1990s and made appearances in GREEN ARROW #80 which is separate from the “Longbow Hunters” arc.
DC Comics Icons: Green Arrow Action Figure is on sale this month, November. There will also be other DC Comic Icons figures such as “Last Rights” Batman, “Brightest Day” Deadman and “Earth 2” Mister Miracle that can be found online or at your local comic book store.
