Batman A Killer In New Film

We all know that this next interpretation of the Caped Crusader will be dark and gritty, but it seems Zack Snyder has taken it to a whole new level.

In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice producer Charles Roven announced that they would be taking the gritty tone someplace it’s never been.  Specifically, he clarified that the new Batman, played by Ben Affleck, will be a murderer.

[Batman] is not giving people a chance. He is more than a vigilante. He has become not only the cop, if you will, he has also become the jury and executioner… He’s older, [and] he’s seen the worst of what man can do. He’s been darkened by it, he’s tougher, he’s angrier, I guess… He’s still lost those that are near and dear to him, and not necessarily from old age or disease.

Batman is notorious for his brutal brand of Justice, but he tries to make it a point not to cross that line.  It seems in this new take on the character all of the things he’s seen and been through have darkened his soul, making him do things he wouldn’t usually do, as seen in the trailer by the fact that he brands his victims.
