Batman-inspired drama gets the Bat Signal to come back to Fox

Gotham gets a third season from the Fox Television Network. The drama, which tells the stories of future Commissioner James Gordon and several up-and-coming villains, was given the green light for season 3 on Wednesday.

“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama.” – Fox Entertainment President David Madden

Also announced, Paul Reubens will join the cast as a series regular.  He was recently cast as The Penguin’s father in the series. The Penguin is played by Robin Lord Taylor. Reubens also portrayed the character in the 1992 film Batman Returns. Here’s a clip from Monday’s new episode featuring Reubens’s first appearance:

Gotham also stars Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Sean Pertwee and David Mazouz, and airs on Monday nights on Fox at 8 / 7 c.
