Ever wanted a 1960’s Batman television crossover to the comics? Well guess what, your dream has come true! With DC capitalizing on the past success of the Green Hornet and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. crossovers, DC Comics has decided to partner up with BOOM! Studios to pair together two of the grooviest shows from the 1960’s in a new Digital First comic book miniseries called Batman ’66 Meets Steed & Mrs. Peel which comes out June 8th as a twelve chapter, bi-weekly series based on the Adam West and Burt Ward’s Batman TV show. This will be the first time the dynamic duo will face off against John Steed and Mrs. Peel. If these names don’t sound familiar don’t fret, they are from the 1960’s British TV series The Avengers starring Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg.

Well known and critically acclaimed British comic book writer Ian Edginton – who is known for doing X-Force, and Justice League – has been given the joyous task to write the series. Teaming up with him is artist Matthew Dow Smith. You might know his work from comics Justice League: Gods & Monsters – Batman. The cover art is from the veteran Michael Allred and Cat Staggs, who has contributed a variant cover for issue #1. While the series will be available in June for digital download the printed periodical will start in July as a 6-issue series. Are you anxious to know more? Well here is the description that we got from DC Entertainment:

As Bruce Wayne shows the beautiful head of a UK electronics company the sights of Gotham, they are interrupted by the felonious feline Catwoman! Unwilling to leave Miss Michaela Gough unprotected, Bruce resigns himself to the fact that Batman cannot save the day. But some new players have arrived in town – though even as the lovely, catsuit-clad Mrs. Peel and her comrade John Steed take control of the situation, nefarious plots continue apace!
