The game is due for release on July 26, 2016, on X-Box One and PS4.
Longtime Batfans can attest to the many indignities suffered by Batman in the world of video games, which is why it was such a revelation when justice was finally done to the character and his world in the form of Rocksteady Games’ Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Released in 2009, the game offered a fully realized world coupled with addictive combat and stellar voice acting, going on to win several “Game of the Year” awards. The groundbreaking game was followed in 2011 by Arkham City, an even more expansive sequel, which was equally showered with awards.
Although the games still hold up well for the past generation of consoles, Warner Bros and Rocksteady have seen fit to polish the games up for a current gen release.
Batman: Return to Arkham will feature both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City “visually enhanced and recreated for a new generation.” The package will also contain all of the previously released DLC for both games, which is a pretty nice bargain if you’re one of the handful of folks who haven’t already emptied their wallets on all of that Bat-goodness.
