Another member of “The Rogues” is spinning their way to The Flash. The CW has cast Ashley Rickards (Awkward) to play the role of iconic Flash villain, The Top, who gives some real meaning to her name, as the villain is known for having the ability to spin at incredibly high speeds and often using a variety of trick tops as weapons.

This variation of the character is quite different from any version we’ve seen in comics or other media as The Top is usually a man named Roscoe Dillon who has the ability to spin at great speed. His spinning power gave him high intelligence, telekinesis and telepathy. This version of The Top is named Rosalind Dillon and is paired with Mirror Master in episode 4 of season 3.

In the comics, The Top is commonly seen alongside fellow Rogue, Mirror Master, which makes it fitting that she would debut in the same episode, which will serve as Mirror Master’s origin story.

Show co-writers Aaron and Todd Helbing had this to say regarding the episode:

“It’s kind of the origin of Mirror Master…We’re really excited,” said Aaron. Added Todd, “It’s the origin story of him, but it’s this struggle between Mirror Master and Captain Cold and you get to see who comes out on top.”

The Flash returns for its third season on October 4th on The CW.
