The upcoming Aquaman film from the DC Extended Universe, starring Jason Momoa and directed by James Wan will begin filming in Australia.
“Queensland was successful in winning a competitive bid to attract Aquaman contributing to our reputation as a leading film destination,” said Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
According to Hollywood Reporter, this news confirms the report of the Australian federal government, that $111 million will be spent on the film. $16.32 million of the $111 million, will be granted by the Australian government itself; sum which secured the shoot on Queensland.
Aquaman is set to be released in 3D and Imax on October 15, 2018, starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Amber Heard as Mera.
