Batman Day is coming up on Sept. 23 and in honor of the 25th anniversary of one of his most iconic villains, a certain thorn in Batman’s side will be on two Batman covers. That villain is, of course, Harley Quinn. Artist Ryan Sook draws both as he recreates Jim Lee’s iconic cover for Batman #608 (the final issue of the legendary Hush saga). The other is a recreation of the first issue of what has become, over the years, one of the most influential and important comics of all time, Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. Both covers will be used as a large poster for display in comic shops participating in Batman Day, and the Dark Knight cover will be the cover of the free comic distributed at in-store events.
Also, if you are in Los Angeles, Harley Quinn creator Paul Dini will be doing an event at Barnes And Noble to promote his graphic novel Harley Quinn: A Celebration Of 25 Years. It will take place on Sep. 23 at the Barnes And Noble on The Grove. Wristbands will required to attend and will be given out on a first come first serve basis.
