Throughout the years Joker and Harley Quinn’s relationship has been portrayed in many different ways. Suicide Squad changed how we see them by making the Joker seem to care for her a little more than usual. Though critics didn’t seem to enjoy Suicide Squad, fans loved the new portrayals of the characters and they were the most popular Halloween costumes in 2016. Much of the love came from the fact that this was the first time we’ve ever seen them together in a live action movie.
They didn’t have as much screen time together as I would have liked, but they did show some flash backs into the beginning of their relationship. The movie ended with the Joker breaking Harley Quinn out of prison and reuniting again. So one is to expect a movie completely focusing on the twisted romance. Bang Showbiz caught up with Margot Robbie and she shared her thoughts on the insane couple and commented:
Their love story has to end in flames! It has to, it just wouldn’t be right!
Considering the characters and who they are, there probably is no other options but to “end in flames”. I don’t know how everyone else feels about it, but I’m very excited to go into depth on probably one of the most insane love stories. Their whole back story is relatively newer compared to others, since the graphic novel The Batman Adventures: Mad Love, released in 1994. Their love story received wide praise, and it finally showed how their relationship started.
