Devoted fans of the series chronicling the early years of James Gordon and Bruce Wayne can breathe a sigh of relief at the FOX network executives’ clarification of Disney’s purchase of 21st Century Fox.
Given that Disney is the parent company of Marvel, fans were concerned about the quality of Gotham to suffer censorship or watering down of its extreme psychological stories. Thankfully, that is not the case. Disney may have control of 21st Century Fox – a deal that grants the ability to fold the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises into Marvel Studios, a long-sought goal – but FOX will remain an independent entity.
Gotham resumes its fourth season in the spring after its winter hiatus.
