Last week, GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) announced their annual awards for representation in media. One of those categories was for Outstanding Comic Book, and amongst the nine nominees, two of them were from DC:
Batwoman, by Marguerite Bennett, James Tynion IV, Steve Epting, Jeromy N. Cox, Stephanie Hans, Renato Arlem, Adriano Honorato Lucas, Fernando Blanco, John Rauch, Deron Bennett
Deadman: Dark Mansion of Forbidden Love, by Sarah Vaughn, Lan Medina, Phillip Hester, José Villarrubia, Janice Chiang
Both books have been standouts this past year, especially Marguerite Bennett’s run on Batwoman, which has been outstanding. Combined with the array of artists on the book, and Tynion’s reign over everything “Bat”, this has made all their books exciting.
