In a recent tweet, DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns hinted at a possible appearance of “the strangest superheroes ever” Doom Patrol in an upcoming episode of the Titans live action TV show. The episode will be written by Johns himself and directed by John Fawcett.

Pictures speak a thousand words and in this case (maybe not a thousand), Johns’ tweet shown above is hinting that the Titans will have some company for their fifth episode in the show’s first season. As to what that interaction will look like, well we can’t know since Johns didn’t give us hint.
The show is being executive produced by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Most of the Titans cast is set in place but there have been no announcements with regards to anybody being cast as members of Doom Patrol.
If you’re not familiar with Doom Patrol, the characters first appeared way back in My Greatest Adventure #80 from 1963. They were created by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani and have been in DC’s circulation on and off since their inception.
Grant Morrison had a legendary run on the characters in the 90’s that is essential reading for DC fans (take a look here). You can take a look at the current generation of Doom Patrol that is being written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Nick Derington right now (check out the first graphic novel here).
As to which version of Doom Patrol, if any, we should expect to see, there are no further details on that front.
