Love him or hate him, earlier this month there were reports that Joaquin Phoenix was in talks to play the Joker in the new Joker origin film. Todd Philips is currently working on the film, and there’s more to it than we know. The French website AlloCine caught up with Phoenix to talk about his new film, Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot, and they just happened to ask about the Joker rumors.
When asked about the film, Phoenix responded with “What movie about the Joker?” Then the interviewer elaborated on the rumors; Phoenix replied, “wow, that sounds amazing. I have no idea what you’re talking about.” So either Phoenix doesn’t know about these rumors, or he’s just playing coy and misleading us all. You can watch the video below:
