It is no secret that Peter Jackson is a major fanboy. His love for Lord Of The Rings and King Kong has translated to millions for New Line Studios. So, it was a surprise in a recent interview where a foreign press news outlet interviewed him about his new movie, Mortal Engines, asked him about the rumors that he may direct a DC Cinematic Universe, to which he replied:
“That’s not true. I had no discussions about that. I’m not a fan of comics, I’ve never read any, so I’m not particularly interested in adapting one for cinema. That’s not true at all.”
Though his cinematic vision would have been perfect for the upcoming Green Lantern film, it would take someone who understands the material intimately to get it right. It makes perfect sense why this rumor came out, as Jackson’s love for the material in his prior work more than shows.
