Superstar musician Sting revealed that he will write the forward to Constantine, Hellblazer: 30th Anniversary Celebration from the perspective of Constantine’s doppleganger from another universe: Golden Boy.  The foreward will focus on the two characters’ relationship with each other over the years.

This announcement looks to confirm what many fans already knew – that Constantine’s signature look is derived from Sting himself.  In the announcement video that Sting filmed while preparing for his 44/876 tour with Shaggy, Sting reflects on the similarities between the master of the occult and himself while wearing Constantine’s iconic trenchcoat.

Constantine is a man of many titles and accolades, including demonologist, master of the dark arts, exorcist, the main character of Hellblazer, DC Vertigo’s longest running title, and an Alan Moore creation.

The 30th Anniversary Collection includes all the Constantine you could ask for with four one-page essays written by Hellblazer writer Rich Handley, a Constantine timeline, and the best of the best Constantine stories from authors such as Alan Moore, Niel Gaiman, Garth Ennis, Paul Jenkins, and much more!

The Constantine, Hellblazer: 30th Anniversary Celebration will be available everywhere October 30th, and Sting’s 44/876 tour with Shaggy starts June 19th.  The announcement video can be viewed here.
