Man of Steel 2 is all but confirmed at this point, and Henry Cavill would like to see Superman face off against Brainiac in the movie. You saw him in Man of Steel as he launched the unofficially titled DCEU. You saw him in the very controversial Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. He was played down a bit in Justice League as part of DC’s attempt to re-center themselves, and now he’s starring in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Â
In a recent interview about that film, Cavill was asked about his opinions on a villain for Man of Steel 2.  His reply was:
“I think a great villain would be Brainiac, that’d be a good villain to play against.  Brainiac’s a big threat. There’s a lot of fun. There’s a lot of storylines to him.”
There is no news yet as to if or when a Man of Steel 2 will be announced, but Cavill’s choice is sure to cause a lot of excitement. Brainiac has already been featured in Superman-related shows like Supergirl (as Brainiac 5), Krypton, and Smallville. He has an intelligent greater than almost everyone in the DC Universe, a physiology that often matched Superman’s strength, and technological capabilities to make him a dangerous threat.
Many fans, however, may be cautious about this choice do to the amount of CGI it might require. Whatever the opinions are, Cavill even talking about something like this could mean that more Man of Steel 2 news is coming in the future, possibily with Brainiac as well.
