The Legion of Doom is coming to the DCEU…well, on second thought, maybe not.

There is no doubt that the arrival of Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke during the credits of Justice League sent DC fans buzzing following his meeting with Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor and the future formation of the bad guy’s league seemed inevitable, but plans have changed.  The arrival of Walter Hamada as head of DC Films and his impact has been felt immediately with the growth of his vision for the DCEU and not that of Geoff Johns and Zack Snyder.

Reports have come into DCN via Revenge of the Fans that Hamada has shelved the idea of the Legion of Doom entirely and any future build of the team towards a crossover with the Justice League will not continue anytime soon.  Hamada has reportedly been focused on making each movie in the franchise successful, once that happens a crossover might happen.  With that news, a Legion of Doom unification film could be several years away from happening.

While talk of a Legion of Doom vs. Justice League movie was only rumored, the arrival of characters inside the Legion of Doom continues with the debut of Yahoo Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta in Aquaman in December and the debuts of Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong), Black Adam (Dwyane Johnson) and Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) are right around the corner.

With the upcoming solo movies for the major heroes and the arrival of their arch-enemies along with them, there is no doubt that a Legion of Doom is far behind but with the new focus of DC Films on a slow build for all characters inside the DCEU, a properly formed Legion of Doom is just what the DCEU needs.
