Keiynan Lonsdale will be back as Wally West in The Flash season 5 for one last hurrah. After leaving The Flash season 4, joining Legends of Tomorrow season 3, and then announcing his leaving the Arrowverse for new things, Keiynan Lonsdale will reprise his role as Wally West for what seems to be a final three episodes.
Lonsdale’s character has had an unstable but rewarding arc on the CW shows. He first joined the Flash in season 2 when Joe discovered he had a son. Things then escalated quickly as he learned Barry’s secret identity, joined team Flash, and eventually became Kid Flash himself. Finally, in season 4, Wally West left the show and joined Legends of Tomorrow to help defeat Mallus.
Three episodes may not be a long return for a beloved character, but showrunner Todd Helbing assured fans that the characters return will be “really cool”. We don’t know what Wally West will be doing in these three episodes, but he was there for the birth of Joe’s daughter and for the shocking announcement from Nora Allen. How will Wally react to having a niece? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
