News is picking up on the upcoming DC Universe original series Swamp Thing. After last week’s announcement that Virginia Madsen would be joining the cast as Maria Sunderland, the latest news reveals the casting choice for her husband, Avery Sunderland.
Comic fans will know that Avery Sunderland is the evil CEO of Sunderland Corporation who at one time even captured Swamp Thing.
None other than Will Patton of Armageddon and Gone in Sixty Seconds fame has been cast as the wicked villain.

As its most prominent businessman, Avery Sunderland serves as the de facto patriarch of his Louisiana hometown, always giving back to the community. His benevolent veneer, however, masks a ruthless determination to harness the power of the swamp for profit.
Swamp Thing is set to premiere in 2019 on the new DC Universe streaming service.
