Summary

Thanks to a rescue by Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, the Titans have arrived back on Earth and everything is back to normal! It seems the alien invasion is over–but there is still work to do! As the team takes time to reassess themselves and work on injuries, Donna Troy makes a trip to the Hall of Justice to brief Batman–but just what will she tell him?

Positives

Kyle Rayner is here! I just had to put that out there one more time in case you didn’t read it the first time! Answering a beacon distress signal by the Titans in our previous issue, Kyle picks up the stranded team and takes them back to Earth–telling them stories of his travels along the way! It seems that the Green Lantern Corps are guarding the hole in the Source Wall, preventing something from escaping! Kyle admits to the team that he’s been beyond the wall before and what lies beyond is horrifying. When the team returns to the Hall of Justice, Donna Troy immediately takes charge and gives each member orders on what to carry out next. Although the invasion is over, the Blood Cult was the Titans previous business a few issues back–and Donna hasn’t forgotten. I admire her taking charge this issue from giving orders to the team, to advising the next plan forward, and even volunteering to brief Batman on their previous mission. Batman even asks has she become the leader now, to which Donna hesitates to answer. However, it’s Kyle Rayner to intervenes and tells Batman that in fact she is. Batman tells Donna that’s exactly what Nightwing would have wanted, and Batman is right.

Negatives

I have no negatives about this issue. The Titans are back on Earth and are right back to work on taking on the Blood Cult! The team seems to be a little more defined in this issue as well which will be great moving forward. Now that they finally have a clear leader in Donna Troy, I can’t wait to see how the next issue goes under her leadership! We also have Green Lantern Kyle Rayner joining the team temporarily as well! I have to admit I was excited about this reveal the most. It seems he already has a great relationship with the team already, and he immediately finds himself in battle with them in the next issue.

Verdict

Overall Titans #31 is a good read! This issue is basically just the team trying to come to terms with everything that’s happened while they were gone, while also trying to compare notes about the Source Wall as well with Kyle. Also we find out that Raven’s soul is still trapped in Unearth and the next issue sees the team jumping directly in battle alongside Kyle Rayner! In case you don’t remember Unearth is a recently created world in the multiverse thanks to the Source Wall, and team at the end of this issue goes there–right into an army of fierce demons! I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next!
