DC Cancels Multiple Ongoing Series

DC has decided to end three of their ongoing titles — TitansDamage, and Scooby Apocalypse.

Surprisingly, DC will no longer publish Dan Abnett’s Titans, as new creative ideas have surfaced that will push the team in a new direction. Despite the uptake in sales due to the live action TV show, the new creative direction seemed fruitful enough that DC has decided to completely end the title for a fresh new start. The last issue of the current run will be issue #36.

“‘Into the Bleed’ finale! It’s all been building to this! Witness the battle for the fate of the entire Multiverse as our heroes tackle Mother Blood and her armies of Unearth!” the Titans April solicitation reads. “Mother’s plan to use the Bleed to spread her power throughout every corner of the fabric of reality has reached its zenith, and she’s pulling out all the stops to see to it the Titans fail in stopping her. But even with Raven’s soul-self reunited, can the team rescue their heavy hitters Kyle Rayner and Steel before it’s too late? Don’t miss this melee of multiversal mayhem! FINAL ISSUE”

On the other hand, Damage‘s cancellation comes to no one’s surprise. Introduced during the “New Age of Heroes”, Damage isn’t the first of these new books to be let go, as only two NAOH titles remain — The Terrifics and Silencer.

“Captured by Echidna, the goddess of monsters, Ethan and Congo Bill must rely on their wits as humans rather than strength as giant powerhouses in order to survive. But do these men stand a chance against the mother of all colossal beasts? Find out in the shocking finale of our series! FINAL ISSUE”

Scooby Apocalypse will also end with issue #36 after a three year run. The issue has been profitable for DC but it seems Hanna-Barbera no longer enjoys the revamp the characters have taken and will be pulling their characters, starting with this one.

“Don’t miss the series finale! It’s the end of the road for the Mystery Machine! With their mall headquarters destroyed, Daphne, Shaggy, Velma, Scooby-Doo, and, yes, Scrapy-Doo prepare for their final battle with the Nanite King. will the resurrected Fred Jones be the key to humanity’s redemption– or its annihilation? And in the final chapter of our Atom Ant epic, all of our guest stars vote on who gets to join the Justice League!”

DC’s full April solicitations are expected to be released the early part of this week.
