It was a big day at CinemaCon for DC in terms of trailers. We’ve known about many films coming for a long time, but now we get our first look at many trailers of long-awaited films. We’ve gotten a lot of news regarding them, so let’s get started!

We’ve now seen trailers for Joker, Wonder Woman 1984, and Birds of Prey, but we also got news on The Batman and Suicide Squad 2. James Gunn’s Suicide Squad is not a sequel, but rather a reboot and entitled The Suicide Squad. We know certain characters make a reappearance so we’ll see how this reboot is going to play out.

The full trailer for Joker has been released and we get our first look at Arthur Fleck, the origin of the Clown Prince of Crime. The trailer is very dark and gritty and looks more like a dramatic biography than anything. Me personally? Not my thing. Not liking the look of Joker being like Ronald McDonald but Joaquin Phoenix does have that iconic laugh down! If you haven’t watched the trailer yet you can check it out here. We see Arkham mentioned and a look at Thomas Wayne so it’s deeply involved in the DC Universe. How ironic that Thomas says the Joker is a coward for hiding behind a mask. So we’re curious to see how well this movie will turn out.

Wonder Woman 1984‘s trailer was released but we’ve yet to see it. It’s the 1980s and the Amazon Princess is at the height of her full power. There was very little footage of Wonder Woman but they got some behind the scenes looks. Patty Jenkins explained what the film was about and where she’s going with the character. Sadly we have to wait until 2020 for the release of the film.

Birds of Prey is still in production, and they didn’t show any polished footage but rather some behind-the-scenes look. We get our first glimpse of Huntress and obviously Harley Quinn. Harley is NOT a member of the girl gang but rather pops in and out of the film and we now have an official name for the film: Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. Talk about a mouthful.
