British actor Robert Pattinson, 32, is currently in talks with Warner Bros to play Batman in the upcoming Matt Reeves movie. Neither party has confirmed the role going to Pattinson but all signs are pointing to him being the heavy favorite.

Within the last hour as of this writing, Variety published an exclusive article stating that Robert Pattinson will indeed be the Caped Crusader in the next movie… or at least the studio favorite to play Batman. Deadline is also including Nicholas Hoult as a top contender for the role as well.

Pattinson is well known to most audiences as the male lead and heartthrob from the Twilight franchise. Actor Nicholas Hoult is probably most recognized from playing Beast in the current run of X-men movies. No news has come from either actor as of this writing.

Pre-production is currently scheduled to begin this summer for The Batman with a target released date of June 25, 2021. Planet Of The Apes Director Matt Reeves will be sitting in said chair once shooting gets rolling. Reeves and Warner Bros. have been looking for a new Batman ever since Ben Affleck bowed out of the project all together in 2017.

Pattinson is already part of the Warner Bros family as he is scheduled to star in Christopher Nolan’s next event film for the studio. That will be released next year in the summer of 2020.

He is represented by WME, the Curtis Brown Group, and 3 Arts Entertainment.

The Batman will debut June 25, 2021
