Tempest, Aqualad, Or Both?
The DC Universe show Titans is planning on adding a lot of characters for its upcoming second season. One of those characters will be Aqualad (sometimes called Tempest) who has often appeared in comics as sidekick to Aquaman himself. He has also appeared alongside the Titans in the comics and in the animated series Young Justice.
Something to keep in mind about the casting though is that there is no official announcement as of yet as to what version of the character will be appearing on screen. It could be Tempest, Aqualad, or a combination of the two characters.
Van Acker comes fresh off appearances in the TV shows Pretty Little Liars and Devious Maids. The actor offered his thoughts on his new role in an Instagram post you can check out down below:

From Superman To Titans
Another important addition to the cast will include the addition of Mercy Graves, personal assistant and bodyguard to Lex Luthor. For those who remember, Mercy Graves is a character that was created specifically for the Superman animated series. The character eventually made to the comics just like Harley Quinn did.
Gumede, who hails from the United Kingdom, has appeared on television on shows such as Free Rein and Jekyll and Hyde. Some eagle-eyed viewers might recognize her from a small role on Doctor Who.
The More The Merrier?
As for the character herself, Titans show runners had this to say:
Mercy Graves is the ruthless, cunning, right hand and bodyguard to the notorious Lex Luthor – serving her boss with unquestioned loyalty. Her connection to the Luthors runs deep, as Mercy has been a friend of the family and in Lex’s life since they were young.
The character is joining a long line of casting announcements in recent months that include Esai Morales as Deathstroke, Joshua Orpin as Superboy, and of course, Iain Glen as Batman.
Oh and of course Krypto (who by all accounts is good boy).
