Todd Phillips, the director of Joker, took to his Instagram account on Sunday to reveal a new image for us fans awaiting this epic film. His photo is tagged “Finishing touches” and shows Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) applying the famous white clown makeup. We have no idea where this image falls in the film but the mystery of it entices us even more to see this film.
A commenter asked Phillips what the rating of the film will be and he replied with “it will be Rated R. I’ve been asked this a lot. Just assumed people knew. Sorry.”
We finally get a Rated R non-animated DC Film! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m excited. Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix as the mentally ill Arthur Fleck who slowly descends into madness and takes on the Clown Prince of Crime moniker we all know and love.
The film also stars Robert De Niro as talk show host Murray Franklin, Zazie Beetz as Arthur’s love interest Sophie Dumond, and Frances Coroy as Arthur’s mother.
Joker is released in theaters on October 4th.
