The Rock Reveals Black Adam Poster And Release Date

The Rock Black Adam

The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) took to Instagram to reveal the first official image of himself as Black Adam. He also announced that the movie is scheduled to release around Christmas time in 2021.

2021 is shaping up to be a major year for DC movies. In addition to The Batman and The Suicide Squad, Black Adam will release on December 22nd, 2021 (no ‘The’ in this title).

Before we go any further, take a look at the very impressive (and lengthy) post from The Rock:

This first image of The Rock as Black Adam was created by legendary DC artist and CCO Jim Lee. The best quote to summarize how Johnson feels is towards the end of his post.

He’s a rebellious, one of a kind superhero, who’ll always do what’s right for the people – but he does it his way.
Truth and justice – the BLACK ADAM way.
This role is unlike any other I’ve ever played in my career and I’m grateful to the bone we’ll all go on this journey together.

Fans have been waiting a long time to get an answer as to when this movie would be coming out. Johnson teased his involvement with Black Adam back in 2012 which was then followed by a formal announcement in 2014.

Since then, Johnson has become the highest paid actor in Hollywood and a global superstar. As for the film itself, so far we know that Jaume Collet-Serra is attached to direct. No word yet on a script.
