Ahead of its February 2020 opening, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is being projected as another hit for Warner Bros’ DC movie slate.
Box Office Pro, doing some long range tracking on the movie, projects an opening weekend of between $40 and $60 million. A comparison point would be Shazam!, which opened at $53 million after similar projections; the two films also have similar budgets, with Prey‘s somewhere in the $75-85 million range.
Margot Robbie headlines Birds of Prey in her first appearance as Harley Quinn since Suicide Squad. Joining her are Juneee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the Huntress, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain. Ewan McGregor plays the villainous Black Mask.
Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) hits theaters Feb. 7, 2020.
